We finally took the plunge and moved to Woodstock, NY permanently. This is our first winter in the Catskills and it’s an adventure. As I’m editing this page, it has snowed 9 inches today.

It’s our first time to witness Christmas cloaked in white,where short is the day and long is the night.

The mood is subdued.

The gardens and walkways covered in snow.

Wearing knitted scarves and hats, comfy caps and gloves,

wool socks, and snowboots, splash-ng in the love.

Layers over, layers under, wading in the awesome wonder

of the shining stars above.

With a quilt as a chrysalis,

We wrap ourselves in dreams of spring,

Our half-hibernation harbors

All the promises the new year brings. 

We’re cozy, snug, and warm in our ca-bin in the forest

with music sweet, a holiday treat, a favorite verse and chorus.

Our friends come to visit, share the laughter and the cheer.

We raise a glass to welcome in a glorious new year.
