Sequester for The Rester The Semester

Solo Song

Duration 3:00

Text by Deborah Lapp

Notes

This was lyric that Deb wrote on a whim during the heard of the pandemic in 2020. We had both just retired from teaching and we felt for our friends and colleagues who were having to teach on line.

Text

CHORUS
Oh! We gotta sequester for the rester the semester.
Nothin' is the same, it's a whole new game, and it's kinda lame.
We gotta sequester for the rester the semester.
Oh! In a quarantine the screen is the scene, got no one to blame.

Gotta teach on the Internet, using Google Classroom, and Zoom.
I can FlipGrid, and FaceTime, and QuickTime, all from my own little room.
We got BlackBoard, and Canvas, and Quizlet, and Turn-It-In-dot-com.
But the worst things about it is the kids didn't get to go to the prom.

CHORUS

Got no concerts, no movies, no dancing, no restaurants, and no bars.
But, we got drive-thru, and DoorDash, pickup, and GrubHub, ev'rything from our cars.
Got no basketball, baseball, no hockey, no golf it's such a crime.
But we got NetFlix, and Hulu, and YouTube. Heck, we got Amazon Prime.
